Dr. Brewer was raised in the North Shore of Hawaii and he met his wife. They attended BYU-Hawaii, majoring in biochemistry and accounting, respectively, while playing collegiate sports. His wife was raised in the Treasure Valley and has family in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, and Kuna.

They currently are raising two daughters. Dr. Brewer’s youngest daughter is autistic and understands how vision plays a part in developmental and visual delays. He believes in early and yearly eye examinations to screen and monitor for potential eye conditions, which can contribute to behavioral and learning difficulties.

The Brewer family enjoys outdoor activities such as standup paddle boarding, water sports, football, baseball, basketball, hiking, fishing, camping, and hunting. His family is involved in crossfit, in which his wife is ranked nationally in Olympic lifting and currently holds the world record in the master’s division. His daughters are involved in gymnastics and soccer. Most importantly he loves spending time with his wife and daughters.
